Semone understands the need to have a place to call your own – a home in which to nest and make memories with family and friends.
“I am blessed to have a very tight-knit family,” she says. “We genuinely enjoy each other’s company and regularly get together for family meals, events or ‘just because.’”
Semone’s desire to make a difference in the lives of others manifested itself in 2020 with her founding BrighterStill.org, a nonprofit organization that provides life skills courses in short video lessons. “We have partnered with local and national organizations to develop content that learners of various ages and education levels can understand,” she says. “Our mission is to help the low-income, those re-entering society, young people aging out of foster care, individuals transitioning from homelessness, and anyone with a desire to learn basic life skills.”
Semone also serves as Chairwoman of the Fayetteville-Cumberland Human Relations Commission and is an active board member of the Fayetteville-Cumberland County Continuum of Care.
